A: Yes, both of these courses are approved by the Florida Bureau of EMS.
Q: How many ceu’s are awarded for each class?
A: The EMT Refresher is 30-hours and the Paramedic is 48-hours.
Q: Does this course include the 2-hours of pediatric emergencies as required by the Florida Bureau of EMS?
A: Yes, both courses include 2-hours of pediatric emergencies within the course.
Q: Do you report the ceu’s to the State of Florida?
A: Yes, if you provide your Florida EMT or Paramedic license number on the application, we will submit your ceu’s upon completion of the course.
Q: Is either course accepted by the National Registry?
A: Currently, the National Registry accepts this course for continuing education because it is approved by the State of Florida. This is a benefit but each person is required to confirm on their own. The National Registry does not have educational providers. Click Here for more information.
Q: Is ACLS or BLS CPR included in this course?
A: No, those courses are not included in this refresher course.
Q: Does Essential Medical Training renew EMT or Paramedic licenses?
A: No, each person is responsible for renewing their own license. Essential Medical Training is only a continuing educational provider.
Q: Once I pay for the course, how long before I get the course?
A: Once payment is received, I have to email you the course manually to the email you provided. This could take a couple hours if I am not in front of the computer when purchase is made.
